The Columbus Philatelic Club, Inc. was established in 1925 and is affiliated with the following:

Meetings

Regular meetings of The Columbus Philatelic Club are held in the multi-purpose room of the the Linden Lutheran Church, 1230 Oakland Park Ave, Columbus, OH 43224-3320. Meetings are held on the second and forth Monday of each month except for June, July and August. The meeting is held on the second Monday in months of June, July and August. A picnic is usually planned during the month of July.

Meetings start at 7:00 PM with social time, APS circuit books, trading and selling. The formal meeting starts at 7:30 PM with a short business meeting and a program of interest on many different aspects of stamp collecting. There are mini-auctions of stamp and philatelic literature items at each meeting and one or two commission auctions during the year.

All are welcome!

COLOPEX is the annual exhibition and bourse of The Columbus Philatelic Club, Inc. It is an American Philatelic Society World Series of Philately accredited exhibition.

An American Philatelic Society World Series of Philately Accredited Exhibition

COLOPEX is sponsored by The Columbus Philatelic Club, Inc. We are hosting the annual meeting of The Meter Stamp Society and would welcome another society to meet at the show.

COLOPEX 2008 will be held on February 1, 2 and 3, 2008 at Franklin County Veterans Memorial Auditorium, 300 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43062. This location is near the heart of downtown Columbus with easy access from all directions.

Admission is free, though there is a moderate charge for parking - $4.00 for the whole day.

  2. Thirty miscellaneous picture postcards; some unused and some with stamp removed.
  3. APS Convention 1975, Columbus, Ohio - complete registration packet containing cachets, Souvenir cards, etc. for the event as well as the Sept. 8, 1975 copy of “Linn’s Stamp News” that previewed this event.

April 28, 2008: Mini-Auction

  1. Forty miscellaneous unused picture postcards.
  2. Washington 2006 - Program, opening ceremony program (with insert), First Day of Issue program for the joint Canadian-US Samuel de Champlain issue, First Day of Issue Program for the $1 Lincoln Memorial stamp reissue from the souvenir sheet.
  3. First Day of Issue Program for the 10¢ American Clock coil issue and the program for Americover 2006 the venue for the issuance of the stamp. Note: One stamp of the strip of four on program has a plate number.
  4. USPS “Officially Licensed Pen” for the “Spay and Neuter” issue in its original package along with its “Made in China” label.

The Philatelic Scene in Central Ohio

Worthington Stamp Club

The WSC meetings are held at the Beechwold Christian Church, 280 Morse Road on the First and Third Mondays of each month and begin at 7:30 PM. Contact the club at Post Office Box 323, Worthington OH 43085 for information.

Germany Philatelic Society Chapter 20

There are three categories of Philatelic Exhibits: Regular, Display, and Single Frame. The Grand Award in the Regular category at COLOPEX 2008 is eligible for the Champion of Champions Competition of the 2008 World Series of Philately.

Individual reservations may be made with the hotel directly, by calling 1-800-HAMPTON (426-7866) and you must use the three-letter group code (CP8). Credit card guarantee must be provided at time of reservation.

Directions to the Hampton Inn & Suites

From Port Columbus - I-670 west toward downtown. Exit onto off-ramp at exit 4B, (High St/Convention Center exit) turn right at the stop sign. Turn left onto Goodale St. Turn left on High St. Hotel is on the right.

From the north (Cleveland) - take 71 south to Spring St. (left hand exit) turn right off exit to High St headed northbound. Hotel is 2 blocks on left corner of Spruce and High Streets.

From south (Cincinnati) - take 1-71 north to front/High St exit. Go straight through light to the next light on High St. Turn left on High St. Hotel on left, corner of Spruce and High Streets.

From the east (Wheeling, WV) - take I-70 west to the fourth street exit. Turn right onto Fourth St. Take Fourth St to Nationwide Boulevard and turn left. Turn right onto High St. Hotel will be 2 blocks on the left at the corner of Spruce and High Streets.

From the west (Indianapolis, IN) - take I-70 east to I-71 north. Take Front/High St exit. Go straight through light to the next light on High St. Turn left on High. Hotel is at the corner of Spruce and High Streets.
